ABEC 5: A standard value used to measure the tolerance of the surface of the roller bearings. There are five classes: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9. The higher the ABEC class, the greater the precision, efficiency and speed capacity, but the highest ABEC classes are not necessarily the fastest rotating parts. All quality manufacturers worldwide use at least ABEC 1 as standard. At Enduro, the minimum standard is ABEC 3. ABEC 5: Steel balls Grade 5: balls with a spherical shape with a precision of 5/1,000,000. This is military level and therefore excellent for use in precision applications. ABEC 5 standard: this bearing must pass all tests; these include high-speed noise, very tight tolerances concerning accuracy of inner and outer diameter, perfect sphericity, track accuracy and the finish of both track and ball. These bearings are treated with a high-quality Teflon lubricant (Rheolube 374A).
