Yum. I find old much used color cubes one of the most beautiful things ever, their colors and edges gorgeously softened with age, but the underside of the box here, mended with a grid of cloth tape, gives the blocks themselves a run for their money! A perfect combination, and a testament to the wonder of these blocks if ever there was one.

An early set, with wooden sides and cardboard bottom to the box, with the lid just a flat piece of cardboard now, resting atop them. Holding together fine, with wear to the blocks as show, most of the paint loss on the red/white side as pictured, and itself I think pretty beautiful. Box 5 1/8" x 5 1/8" x 1 1/4".
