The García family’s cigar-making heritage began in Cuba but truly took shape in the U.S. with the founding of El Rey de los Habanos, a small factory in Miami’s Calle Ocho neighborhood. This factory marked the beginning of their American cigar journey and laid the foundation for what would become My Father Cigars—now the name of the company, their major factory in Nicaragua, and several of their cigar lines.

Much like My Father, the name El Rey de los Habanos once referred to both a cigar and the factory that produced it. Now, that original cigar line is returning to shelves with a fresh look and a new blend. The updated version is called Don Pepín García E.R.H., featuring a Sumatra rosado oscuro wrapper over a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos from Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa. It follows two previous versions: the original Nicaraguan puro and a 2014 remake with an Ecuadorian habano wrapper.
