Designed for the elite user, Smith's team of product designers and engineers spent two years developing this top-of-the-line product with informed insights from notable Rocky Mountain Enduro athletes Remi Gauvin, Andreane Lanthier Nadeau, and Jesse Melamed. The Smith-sponsored team was instrumental in formulating and refining the construction, design, features, and aesthetics of the DH-certified (ASTM F1952) enduro helmet. The Mainline is available in three colorways, including a Sea to Sky-inspired version that will be worn throughout the season by the Rocky Mountain Enduro team. Expanding Smith's line of progressive protection, the Mainline features a proven, lightweight in-mold construction with full Koroyd® coverage for an integrated skeletal structure and complete ventilated protection. The addition of a Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS®) liner reduces rotational forces to the brain during angled impacts to the head. Smith helmets are engineered to efficiently absorb direct impacts, and when combined with MIPS, a low-friction slip plane separates the helmet liner from the head, allowing the head to slide during impact and can reduce traumatic brain injuries. The Mainline features 21 optimized vents and utilizes internal air channels combined with open intake and exhaust ports for maximum ventilation and breathability, while AirEvac™ channels promote airflow to prevent fogging when worn with safety glasses. Each helmet includes three uniquely sized sets of cheek pads, two uniquely sized sets of crown pads, and two uniquely sized neck rolls for a snug, custom fit. The performance pads are all comprised of hybrid X-Static® and XT2® antibacterial materials. All components are easily removed for cleaning. Additional features include an adjustable visor and a chin strap with D-ring.
