This 2x2 twill weave is our most popular carbon fiber fabric. This 3K tow (3000 filiments per fiber) fabric provides outstanding structural strength with a signature appearance that is highly desirable for modern composite parts in the aerospace, auto, marine, and sporting goods industries.
When compared to plain weave counterparts, the twill weave offers greater conformability, presents a beautiful herringbone texture, and delivers a slight edge in strength. In fact, our #1069 boasts an ultimate tensile strength of at least 610 KSI—most competitors offer only around 500 KSI.

The 3K 2x2 Twill Weave Carbon Fiber Fabric (#1069) is Fibre Glast's single most popular carbon fiber fabric, delivering the signature carbon fiber appearance that defines modern high-performance composite components.
This fabric features 3K carbon tow (3,000 filaments per fiber) woven in a classic 2x2 twill pattern, weighing 5.7-5.9 oz/sq yd.
The #1069 boasts an ultimate tensile strength of at least 610 KSI, significantly exceeding the approximately 500 KSI offered by many competitors in the marketplace, ensuring superior structural performance in demanding applications.
The 3K 2x2 twill weave has become synonymous with high-performance composites for excellent reasons that span both aesthetics and performance.
The twill pattern creates the distinctive diagonal herringbone appearance that signals quality and sophistication in automotive, aerospace, marine, and sporting goods applications worldwide.
Beyond its beautiful aesthetics, the twill weave offers superior conformability compared to plain weave fabrics, allowing better draping over complex compound curves without bridging or wrinkling that can compromise both appearance and structural integrity.
The highest quality aerospace fibers deliver unmatched reliability along with fire resistance and fatigue resistance for durable strength in demanding environments.
The #1069 is the go-to choice for high-strength, lightweight composite parts in the aerospace, auto, marine, and sporting goods industries.
This fabric is ideal for making parts that don't need to withstand high temperatures.
Available in both 50-inch (#1069) and 60-inch (#2069) widths to accommodate most project sizes, the moderate 5.7-5.9 oz/sq yd weight allows multiple layers while maintaining reasonable laminate thickness for complex layup schedules.
To maximize strength properties, use with an epoxy resin such as Fibre Glast System 2000 Epoxy (#2000).
When working with molds featuring tight radii or compound curves, laying the fabric at a 45-degree bias improves conformability significantly while maintaining the signature appearance.
Note that twill weaves are prone to unraveling when cut, so use Perfect Line Tape (#1735-A) or Dritz Fray Check (#1713-A) to seal cut edges during fabrication.
Available in 1-yard (#1069-A), 3-yard (#1069-B), and 5-yard (#1069-C) prepacks, as well as continuous cut-to-length yardage for orders of 10 yards or more. A 60-inch wide version is also available (#2069). Quantity discounts continue to deepen as yardage increases for any single cut of fabric.
Fibre Glast is committed to ensuring that every roll of fabric is First Quality and manufactured to the highest standards, delivering consistent properties and handling characteristics every time you order.
