About the Author: Ramamuti S. Mishra, M.D. (Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati) is one of the gurus of Sharon Gannon and David Life, founders of Jivamukti Yoga. He had an extensive background in both Eastern and Western Medicine. In 1958 he founded the Yoga Society of New York, Inc., and in 1964, its country retreat center, Ananda Ashram in Monroe, NY.
