An Infantry Mounted Officers Horse Bit - Bit464A branch cheek steel bit. It has a medium height port. The cheeks are curved, each bears a rein loop, there is no shackle bar. There is an round gilt brass cheek boss surmounted by a Queen's crown on each side of the bit. In the centre of each cheek badge there is a thistle, a rose and a shamrock, surrounding these there is a garter which reads "Infantry Mounted Officers".
