I found this strikingly sculptural, very heavy bronze vase--7+ pounds worth--in upstate New York, near the Hudson River Valley, at a bit of an out of the way and happily under-picked spot. I'd call it brutalist, artist made, though it is unsigned, at least as far as I can see. Voluptuous and super visceral, with with what appear to be thumb prints pressed into the body, and Pollock-esque drips animating the surface. Somehow it also reminds me a bit of a memory jug, too. Great.

Weighs 7 1/4 pounds. Approx 6 1/8" t x 5" widest, 2 3/4" across at lip. Excellent vintage condition.
