Subject is coastal landscape view of Baddacome Beach, Devon.
Impressive size with the frame being 99 cm wide and 86 cm high.
In the foreground your focus is the beautiful tranquil footpath that meanders, coming to a cross goes section where one path goes uphill and the other goes downhill towards the shore. In the background cliff faces, further back towards the center is a small harbor wall. It is a small rowing boat along with a small 2 mated sail fishing boat, with a third sailing masted boat heading towards the viewer. To the left side you can see beautiful calm blue seas, above, the nix overcast sky with blue towards the top area coming through.

Artist biography Samuel Edward Kelly. He was born in 1862 and died in 1935. He was a well known British Devon-based artist who specialized in painting watercolors of coastal landscapes around the south-west coast of Devon area.

Offered in fine used condition.
Front painting surface in reasonable acceptable overall order. Having various foxing staining & some paint loss towards the edges also some minor water damage towards the bottom corner area. The frame, which has various general wear, scuffs, chips, cracking, losses and old repairs, also-over-painted in areas commensurate with usage & old age. Various tears losses to the brown paper cover on the back. It would benefit with being re framed and cleaned.
