There is something so special about these little vintage Yves Saint Laurent jackets. Each is like a little treasure when you find them. Especially when it is one of the ones with the earlier label like this one has. This one is so very very good. It is made out of a flat pile black cotton velvet that gives it a deep rich texture to the colour. Onto this is gold stitching, gold braided cording and a brighter metallic gold cord. The cording wraps around the edge of the neck and runs down the front of the jacket and all the way around the hem. More of it runs around the edge of each sleeve. Set within and along that edging he has done an elaborate gold stitch and cord combination that gives the velvet there a slight 3-D texture so that it sits up and off the base a touch. The design is elaborate and curves over the entire jacket. At the front the gold cord sits at the base on each side and then you see another of the same design wrapping above each cuff. The back was not left out and more of the embellishment runs around the collar and all the way around the bottom hem. The jacket has a simple cut so that the detailing can take centre stage. It has no closures and no collar. The sleeves are straight and the body of the jacket has an almost boxy shape that is cropped to just the top of the hip depending on your height. It is in fantastic condition and is an easy way to add a little fabulous pop of vintage to your wardrobe. I love it. Excellent condition.

Fully lined in a black silky satin and has no closures. It slips on to wear. Slight padding in each shoulder. It appears to have been worn very little if at all.
