For sale here is a rod you won't often find on the resale market; a Carlson "Four" 7'6 3/2 4wt quad made by Dana Gray, owner of the Carlson Rod Company. Serial no. 096-4753. Dana is at the top of the list of worldwide cane rod makers and it's well known that his waiting list for a new rod is ~ seven years. The rod remains in unused condition.

Dana uses highest quality bamboo culms that are 50 years old in constructing these beauties. Burgundy wraps and black tipping at the winding check and male ferrules. Blued hardware. U-shaped hook keeper. Handsome bakelite checks. The reverse half wells grip measures 5 1/2" in length with a squared nose. Nickel silver cap and ring reel seat over a mortised wood spacer. The seat also features bakelite accents. "Dana Gray - Maker -" is stamped on the butt cap. The ferrules, which Dana himself makes, fit together perfectly. The rod weighs 3.75 oz. The rod has a classic medium-fast action. Includes the original bag and tube with brass fittings and canvas tube cover. The brass collar on the tube also features the maker stamp.
