The pink variety of this historic stone was hugely popular in the 18^th and early 19^th century, spurred on by discoveries in Brazil and Russia, and again in the opening decades of the 20^th century, when its pastel pink hue was the perfect accompaniment to the glittering jewels of platinum, diamonds and pearls which adorned high society. Finely bordered with yellow gold to complement its colour, this cherry blossom coloured stone is set within a millegrained platinum border of antique circular-cut diamonds, the undulating outline of the mount giving the ring a graceful, almost Mughal touch.
