The D4-15-XL is the latest evolution of MPI’s dirt steering wheel line, originally inspired by the groundbreaking D Model developed with Donny Schatz—one of the most successful dirt racers in history. Building on the success of the D2 and D3, the D4-15-XL represents the pinnacle of design, safety, and ergonomics for dirt racing.

This wheel features the trusted MPI Safety™ structure and includes the same energy-absorbing inner construction that helps reduce impact to a driver’s upper body during high-force events. The injected foam core provides industry-leading vibration absorption, improving comfort and reducing fatigue over long races.

What sets the D4-15-XL apart is its new ergonomic, extra-large outer grip. Made with textured polyurethane injected foam and partially wrapped in MPI’s new Hypergrip material, this grip is designed for maximum control and a natural feel. The Hypergrip material maintains its hold even during one-handed driving and extended use, helping reduce fatigue in intense conditions.
The grip is finished with a durable and sporty MPI Orange™ cross-stitched technique, adding both function and flair. The updated spoke structure features rounded edges for increased safety and a post-anodized, CNC-machined black-and-silver contrast finish, giving the wheel a premium look and feel.

Each D4-15-XL is individually serial-numbered for traceability and comes with a super-light MPI center pad for added protection. Like all MPI wheels, it is crafted with precision, racer feedback, and attention to every detail—delivering the performance and reliability drivers demand on dirt.
