Description:
Combining jet-black grooves with the sophisticated coolness of European jazz, the Belgian jazz band Placebo, led by jazz pianist Marc Moulin, recorded three albums in the 1970s. The band boldly incorporates electric instruments and jazz, while crossing over into funk, soul, and rock. This is a masterpiece, a milestone in the rare groove/jazz scene in Europe and around the world, and a coveted album not only for rare groove collectors around the world, but also for deep jazz collectors! This is the second album released in 1973. It is a masterpiece of the Mulan sound, sublimating the concept of the previous album to a progressive jazz album with a more complex structure. Moulin's aggressive arrangements, which show order amidst chaos, are appealing. M3 "Phalene" is irresistible! M4 "Barek" is a funky, melodic horn section that breaks out into an aggressive synth-based sound. Placebo's concentration is at times almost spiritual.M5 "Pork" has a placebo sound with funky guitar cuts, groovy Moulin's electric piano, and an irresistible looped beat. Solid and thrilling, Moulin's concept is strongly reflected in this masterpiece, which also leads to Telex, which Moulin formed later in the year! P-VINE
