The 2018 Arnaud Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is sourced from 80 to 120-year-old vines across parcels in En Champs, Combes du Dessus, and Aux Echezeaux -- just thirteen barrels from under a hectare. Jasper Morris of Inside Burgundy awarded it 91-93 points and Neal Martin of Vinous 93-95 points.
Very intense, offering darker fruit than the regular Gevrey Village. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent red fruit on the entry laced with blood orange, fine tannins and a compact but quite sustained finish. A hint of fresh fig appears on the aftertaste. Superb. - Neal Martin, Vinous (93-95 pts)
