Description:
UFO debuted in 1970 with the hit "C'mon Everybody," which garnered attention as an up-and-coming rock band, but the band subsequently fell into a slump. However, in 1973, the band recruited a new guitarist, Michael Schenker (formerly of the Scorpions), and the album "Phenomenon" was highly acclaimed for Michael's guitar playing and ability as a composer, and the band took off and became active on the British hard rock scene in the 1970s. In 2019, the band celebrates its 50th anniversary, but a string of classic members have passed away, most recently core member Phil Mogg, who suffered a heart attack, leaving the band in a state of uncertainty. In 1992, they released "High Stakes & Dangerous Men". Michael Schenker, Alan Parker, and Paul Raymond return to the band to start working with the best members. Before the album is released, the band warms up with a small tour of Germany, Japan, and the U.S. The tour includes the release of "High Stakes & Dangerous Men" on December 16, 1993. The December 16, 1993 concert in Babenhausen, Germany was recorded and broadcast as a special program on the German broadcaster WDR, and this live album is based on the recordings from this broadcast. The complete concert, including encores and songs from Michael Schenker's acoustic guitar album released in the same year, is included in this release, providing a complete picture of the concert. Although only songs from the 1970s are included, this is a must-have for fans of the band, as it is the last live album from this lineup, which performed in a manner reminiscent of their heyday, after ample rehearsal and challenge.
