Bobby Jasper Quintet
Description:
Bobby Jasper's soft and deep tone captivates the listener. The last of the three great Euro-jazz recordings by Sawano Studio is now back, and it is QUARTET. The last of the three great Euro-jazz recordings by Sawano Kobo is now back, and it is QUARTET. Eddie Costa on piano still shines here. Barry Galbraith on guitar. In terms of connections, he sounds like Hal Maxick's backer. The performance with an intellectual air is hard to find. Although the number of songs on this album is large and the playing time is short, listeners can fully appreciate Bobby Jasper as a multi-reed player who can play tenor, flute, and clarinet. Each listener may be attracted to different "faces" of him, but I suspect that many will fall in love with his tenor charms. His soft and deep tone, which is similar to that of Richie Cameka and Bill Perkins, fascinates listeners. Now, I heard that there are three great Euro-jazz masterpieces by René Hurtorger of VERSAILLES, whom some people call "the three great phantom masterpieces of Euro-jazz.Georges Arvanitas of PRETORIA. And Bobby Jasper of COLUMBIA. As you know, Sawano Kobo has already reissued the first two albums. Yoshiaki Sawano has been persisting to "reissue them someday" because these three albums are difficult to obtain. I'll reprint them someday...). In that sense, this is Sawano's "full desire" work. Please enjoy it. (Excerpt from the liner notes: Text by Kitami Hiiragi) Sawano Kobo
