First Prize of the Chopin International Period Instrument Competition! Tomasz Rittel NIFC Vol. 2! Following the live recording of the competition, this second release from NIFC focuses on the masterpieces of Haydn, Beethoven, and Chopin, as well as rare works by Lesser and Wojciech. Tomasz Rittel was born in 1995 in Lublin, Poland. He studied piano with Mikhail Voskresensky, harpsichord with Maria Uspenskaya, and period piano with Alexei Lyubimov at the Moscow Conservatory. He has won first prizes at the Artur Rubinstein International Young Pianists Competition (Poland), San Sebastian (Spain), Enschede (the Netherlands), Prague Conservatory (Czech Republic), and many other international competitions.HIP (Historically Informed Performance) is an important part of Littell's performance activities, and on this album, too, he pursues the ideal form of music as envisioned by the composers and reproduces in the present day the sounds that many listeners of the time would have heard. The album also pursues the ideal form of music as envisioned by the composers and reproduces the sounds that many listeners would have heard at that time. Tokyo M-Plus
