About EL ÁRBOL DE MICTLÁN :
After a soul departs this world, it must then travel four years through treacherous places and go through many trials to reach the place of eternal rest, Mictlán.
Pamela's Tree of Mictlán is not based on any actual story of Mesoamerican mythology, but it is more a representation of rebirth after death. The Xolo dogs stand guard with their torches to protect the tree from invaders who may seek to explore where they are not welcome.
