For example, a 1 Meter (≈39.4") roll typically covers a single large battery cell or a short wire run. For longer battery packs or cable looms, the 2–5 Meter options are generally more practical. For production runs, the 8 Meter or 10 Meter rolls offer better value per meter.

A heat gun is the recommended tool. Apply even heat at typically 90–120°C (194–248°F), moving the gun slowly and evenly along the length of the tubing to avoid hot spots. Start from the center and work outward to prevent air pockets. A lighter can work for small sections in a pinch, but avoid direct flame contact, which can scorch or melt PVC and compromise insulation integrity.

Black is the most widely used color for battery packs and general electrical insulation — it conceals cell markings and gives a clean, finished look. Transparent is ideal when you want labels, cell branding, or capacity markings to remain visible through the sleeve. Blue, White, and Silver Grey are popular for color-coded wiring systems, custom builds, or aesthetic projects. All five colors offer the same insulation performance.
