Description:
A collection of orchestral works by Jewish-Polish Moritz Moszkowski. The third collection includes three works, including a world premiere recording. Moszkowski was a highly acclaimed pianist during his lifetime and is known as a composer of romantic piano pieces, but he also wrote excellent orchestral works. The "Overture" was the first orchestral work he wrote, and it shows that at the age of 17 he had already mastered the art of orchestration. The "First Suite" is a work that is full of flowing melodies one after another. It is composed of a variety of rhythmic movements and variations. Prelude and Fugue" was written in 1910, when he was in the depths of despair after the death of his mother. It is a work that expresses the emotions of Moszkowski, who suffered hardships in his later years. Throughout the series, Sinfonia Varsovia gives a sympathetic performance. Naxos Japan
