The corners, top and base of spine are bumped, top beginning to fray, the binding is sound. The end papers and page edges are very age-toned. Text is slightly age-toned with very occasional foxing on some pages. The photo plates are on glossy paper that is clean and bright. The map (1"=1 mile) 62 x 38cm, often missing, has been cut and mounted on linen and folded between light, brown card, 15.5 x 12.5cm covers. The margins have been trimmed and the legend is pasted on the reverse. It no longer fits the original pocket at the back, but protrudes. The map otherwise is clean with minimal wear. It is colour printed but has the appearance in many places of being water coloured. Map and book in good condition.
