Liping White Tea

Liping White Tea, a treasure among Chinese teas, is crafted from the rare “Baiye No. 1” cultivar. Originally cultivated in Zhejiang Province during the Ming Dynasty, where it was known as “Anji Baicha,” this tea was later introduced to Guizhou Province. Here in Guizhou, Liping White Tea is produced using traditional Zhejiang processing methods, preserving its legacy while highlighting the unique qualities of the local terroir.

Although named a “white tea,” Liping White Tea is more closely aligned with green teas in terms of flavor. However, it distinguishes itself with a much gentler, smoother profile compared to most green teas, offering a refined and delicate taste that appeals to both new and experienced tea drinkers.

Renowned for its unique characteristics—“white leaves with green veins, and a fresh, sweet taste”—its distinctive white coloration occurs when temperatures drop below 25°C, making it a seasonal marvel.

Grown at altitudes of 500–800 meters in Liping County, Guizhou, this tea is hand-picked in spring (late March to mid-April), adhering to a meticulous plucking standard of one bud with one or two leaves. The fresh leaves undergo traditional processing techniques, including withering, rolling, and drying, preserving their elegant shape and bright color.
