I am Kay, and I make these in my kitchen that started this whole thing. Bergamot was one of the early scents we added once my daughter's eczema was finally calm and we could play with essential oils again. The refill pouch is how I personally restock at home, because the jar I love is still good.

What is in the pouch

This is a 12 ounce refill of our Bergamot Body Butter, the exact same plant based formula as the Bergamot Body Butter jar. The base is shea butter, mango butter, avocado oil, and jojoba oil, with bergamot essential oil, a bright, fresh citrus. Same small batch quality, same texture, just packed in a lighter pouch so you can refill the jar you already love.

How to refill

Open the cap on your existing jar, snip the corner of the pouch, and squeeze the body butter into your jar. Smooth the top with the back of a clean spoon, secure the lid, and store at room temperature out of direct sun. Use within twelve months. After your shower, scoop a small amount and apply to damp skin so it locks in moisture and absorbs fast.

What does bergamot smell like?

Bergamot is the citrus you taste in Earl Grey tea. It is brighter than orange, softer than lemon, and a little floral on the dry down. It tends to read as fresh rather than sweet.

Will citrus make my skin sun sensitive?

We use bergamot at a cosmetic safe level, but as with any citrus oil, we recommend applying it before bed or under clothing if you are out in strong sun. Sunscreen is always a good idea.

Is the refill the same formula as the jar?

Exactly the same. We use the same recipe, the same ingredients, and the same small batch process. The only difference is the packaging.

How much do I save with the refill?

You get a larger amount of body butter for less than the cost of a new jar, and you skip the extra container. Most regulars rotate between a jar and a refill every few months.

How long does a refill last?

About three to four months with daily, full body use. Longer if you are mostly using it on hands, elbows, and other spot areas.

Can I use this if I have eczema or very sensitive skin?

For active eczema, start with the Eczema Relief Body Butter. For sensitive but not flaring skin, this scent and our other gentle scents tend to work well. Patch test on the inside of your wrist first.
