The Heinkel He-111 low-wing medium bomber formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe's bombing departments in the early years of World War II. It was characterized by the adoption of two engines, like many other aircraft with similar characteristics of the time, but also by the introduction of innovative solutions such as the all-metal structure. Thanks to its two engines, the Jumo 211 was able to reach a maximum speed of 440 km / h and could carry over 2,000 kg of bombs in the internal hold. Easily identifiable by its large glazed nose and wing profile and tail rudders, it was widely used by the Luftwaffe during the Battle of England in 1940. The Heinkel He-111 was regularly improved and modified but soon became outdated during the course of the war.
