Mahavishnu Orchestra
Description:
British jazz guitarist John McLaughlin came to Miles Davis' attention when he joined Lifetime, formed by Tony Williams after leaving the Miles Davis Group. He participated in the recording of the famous album "Bitches Brew" and attracted more attention. At the suggestion of Miles Davis, he formed the Mahavishnu Orchestra in 1971 with four other talented musicians, and their unique musical style, a fusion of jazz and rock with the essence of Indian music, won high acclaim and sales success. Their second album, "Birds of Fire," released in 1972, was a worldwide hit. To promote this album, the band performed at a jazz festival in Oriulle, southeastern France, on August 23 of the same year. The set list consisted of their first and second albums, and could be said to be the best of the band during this period. The sound produced from the clash of techniques by the five members creates new jazz music of this era!
