The fifth track from Blue Note Reimagined II, Nubian Twist, a nine-piece jazz collective formed at Leeds' College of Music, presents a reimagined version of Donald Byrd's "Chant from A New Perspective" (1963), "Through The Noise (Chant No. 2)," and a reimagined version of "Chant from A New Perspective" (1963) by Swindle, an artist of note bridging the new generation of London's jazz and club music scenes: The album features two tracks: "Through The Noise (Chant No. 2)," an imagine version of Donald Byrd's "Chant from A New Perspective" (1963), and "Miss Kane," the sixth single from Swindle, a hot artist who bridges the gap between the new generation jazz scene in London and the club music scene. 7" vinyl! Swindle says, "I tried not to stray too far from the original, but to pay tribute to Donald Byrd. I certainly have a responsibility to treat that music with class and respect. When I arranged Donald Byrd's "Chant," I was thinking about the unusual combination of jazz and the heavy swing found in UK garage and 2-step.This was something we had not been aware of before, but it provided an exciting backdrop for our Broken Beat, Afrobeat, and Bebop influences.
