Description:
Claud, the project of Brooklyn, U.S.-based singer-songwriter Claude Mintz, whose debut album also made a splash. Releasing his second album "Supermodels" on Phoebe Bridgers' Saddest Factory label, Claud will release his long-awaited second album "Supermodels" on Saddest Factory Records. This will be the follow-up to 2021's critically acclaimed "Super Monster" After 2001's triumphant debut "Super Monster," Claud noticed that with departures and losses, a void was created where a network of support once existed and life was turned upside down. As a result, Claud began songwriting with a new acoustic guitar and a used upright piano that he had recently installed in his apartment; Claud's apartment, with its unwieldy acoustic guitar and worn-out piano, became the setting for many of the experiences that underlie "Supermodels" experiences came to expression. The thirteen songs on the album are genre-defying, as Claud says, with hooks that, like the best pop music, remain as powerful as the memories: the cracks in love and friendship, the pressures from a recording career, the scars of growing up, the funny stories of life, and more. It's like another diary entry, and Claud approaches everything on the album with a new depth and a humor that comes from an unmistakable new confidence, expressed through sophisticated compositions and hooks. While "Super Monster" was produced in his childhood bedroom, "Supermodels" was made in Claud's own space, with close friends and collaborators.
