Description:
The first memorable release from Mac DeMarco's new label! The Japanese debut of a keyboardist with a cult following in the alternative scene! Originally from Coaldale on Australia's south coast, this pianist has garnered attention for his work with a wide variety of artists, including Kirin J. Callinan, Weyes Blood, Connan Mockasin, and in Hawaii, supporting Iggy Pop in the background, He has a cult following among some alternative music fans. After years of support, he began his own career as an SSW. He found a piano on the streets of Queens, adjusted it back to playable condition by himself, and started composing music. In October 2019, he settled in New York City and produced this debut album "Live In...New York City". The demo of the album reached Mac DeMarco's ears, and after mixing, etc., he released this solo album on "Mac's Record Label". The warm piano playing of the pop songs are reminiscent of the great records of Randy Newman, Elton John, and other musicians from the 60s and 70s, and the overall rounded, home-recorded music with a slightly rough but delicate touch makes you feel at ease, as if someone is singing beside you (especially on (1) through (2)). Especially, the flow from (1) to (4) is excellent). This album is a must-listen for all mankind, full of melodies that will stick not only to keyboard lovers but also to pop lovers!
