“This book is concerned with British coins from 1837, when Victoria came to the throne, right up to the present time.  The main advantages of concentrating on this relatively short period is that the coins are more easily accessible than those of earlier years, for many people still have Victorian, Edwardian and George V coins of their own, or have been given them by their parents or grand-parents, and furthermore, by judicious buying, excellent collections can still be made without the collector being involved in great expense.

The second part of the book gibs short historical notes on the coinage of each reign of the period along with details of every type of coin issued, rarities, varieties and approximate values.  An excellent bibliography is provided as also are the addresses of the leading numismatic societies and a selected list of the main coin dealers and auctioneers.”
