NIJ Level IIIA is the highest soft armor threat rating in the NIJ 0101.06 standard. At this level, the panel is rated to defeat handgun rounds up to .44 Magnum and .357 SIG FMJ at standard test velocities. It does not stop rifle rounds. For rifle-threat environments, a hard armor plate rated Level III, Level III+, or Level IV is required in addition to or in place of this panel.

What does Level IIIA stop?

Level IIIA is the highest handgun threat rating under NIJ 0101.06. It covers a wide range of pistol calibers including 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .357 SIG FMJ, and .44 Magnum SJHP. It does not provide protection against rifle calibers such as 5.56x45 or 7.62x39.

Will this panel stop rifle rounds?

No. Level IIIA soft armor panels stop handgun threats only. Stopping rifle rounds requires a hard armor plate rated Level III, Level III+, or Level IV, either used standalone in a hard-plate carrier or in conjunction with a soft armor backer.

Does this panel require a carrier or vest?

Yes. This is a bare ballistic insert and requires a compatible plate carrier, soft armor vest, or plate-pocket-equipped outer garment to be deployed. It does not include a carrier.

What is the difference between Shooters Cut and SAPI Cut?

Shooters Cut panels have a squared upper corner profile that maximizes coverage area in the chest zone. SAPI (Small Arms Protective Insert) cut panels have angled upper corners that reduce shoulder interference and provide greater arm mobility. Shooters Cut is the more common format for civilian and law enforcement carriers with standard 10x12 pockets.

Can this panel be washed?

Soft armor panels should not be machine washed or submerged. Surface cleaning with a damp cloth is generally recommended. Follow any care instructions included with the panel. Exposure to excessive moisture, heat, or UV over time can degrade ballistic performance.

Can this panel be shipped to my state?

This panel cannot be shipped to New York or Connecticut due to state body armor restrictions.
