This Gate Pulse Amplifier board serves as the primary interface between the digital control logic and the high-power section of the excitation system. It receives low-voltage firing commands from the ESEL control board and amplifies them to drive the gates of six Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs) within the power bridge.

It monitors current conduction to verify SCR firing and manages thermal protection by tracking bridge temperature and cooling fan operation.
