Pink Floyd
Description:
The soundtrack was remastered from the original 1968 analog mono mix by James Guthrie, Joel Plant, and Bernie Grundman, who are responsible for all of Pink Floyd's sounds. MONO version, which was released exclusively for Record Store Day in 2019 and received worldwide acclaim for its quality, is now being reissued in a limited edition for the 55th anniversary of its debut. This is a 1968 album. This is the second album produced during the turbulent period when Syd Barrett fell into a mentally unstable state due to drug overdose and left the band, and David Gilmour was brought in as a new guitarist. The album was colored with a cosmic psychedelic sound, and produced such masterpieces as "Hymn to the Sun," inspired by the novel by William Burroughs, and "Mystery," a 12-minute four-part song that became a highlight on stage during this period. This important album was also the starting point for the band's subsequent four-piece formation after the loss of Barrett midway through the album's production. (C)RS
