HOW TO USE:
The surgeon makes a small incision in the lower right quadrant of the abdomen to access the area where the appendix is located. This incision is typically about 2 to 3 inches long, but it may vary depending on the surgical technique and the patient's anatomy. The Rigby Appendectomy Retractor is inserted through the incision into the abdominal cavity. The surgeon should grasp the Retractor handle and gently maneuver it to position the blades appropriately. Surgeon gently opens the flexible arms of the Rigby retractor to retract the surrounding tissues, including the peritoneum, to provide clear access to the appendix. A surgeon should take care not to cause undue trauma to the tissues.
